The Community Closet is a vital and active support ministry to directly benefit those in need by providing the basic material necessities for everyday life with grace, compassion, and non-judgment.   Our goal is to make gently used clothing and household items easily available to individuals and families who are financially challenged, all for the purpose of building relationships. The Community Closet is open to the public. Donation bins are located on the back side of the building.

Serving opportunities:
Volunteers from area churches to staff the center, build relationships, gather, sort, organize goods and pick-up large items from donors.

We are excited to communicate that Niko Hulslander has decided to pursue a position with Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  Sadly, this also means he is stepping down as the director of the Lord’s Gym.  He will be deeply missed.  For more information on his departure, check out the flyer at the Lord’s Gym and the church office.

The York Regional Dream Center is currently seeking a new director for the Lord’s Gym Ministry.  The director will demonstrate a heart for Christ as well as sufficient calling, character formation, competency and capacity for the role.  Director will be responsible for maintaining and growing the Christ-centered, welcoming environment which fosters spiritual and physical health in those who attend.  Director will recruit, develop and supervise a team of volunteers equipped to provide support, management and administration necessary for gym to operate safely and effectively. Experience and expertise in fitness training, coaching, or exercise is strongly preferred.

Applications are available at the Lord’s Gym and at the GFCS church office.  Deadline for application is 9/15/18.  Please forward completed application and resume to SLT@gfcshrewsbury.org.
